As a busy mom to 6 living with chronic pain, it can be easy to get lost in the mist of the chaos that is home, kids and overall life. There are few things that can make you feel good from the inside out, for some it may be chocolate – unfortunately I’m not a fan of chocolate. :: insert shocked emoji here :: But, hey more for you, right?! One thing I attempt to do is to always try to maintain my nails polished. I am able to do this during the week, while the older children are at school and during the 3 younger children’s nap time. Whether you’re a mom to multiples or one, all our plates are full, I know, I’m there with you! However making time for yourself, whether that is taking a walk or like myself, doing your nails, you need to find time. There are plenty of home nail tools to make the process easy. Also, change up the polish, take risks, do something different, something you haven’t tried, try bright colors if you haven’t, try the nail striping tape, but just do it!
Here are a few that I’ve been wearing and that are easy to do – same 2 polishes, 4 different ways. Also, using glitter polish and gold nail striping tape.

A few years ago, I changed our laundry detergent and bath soaps to make them clean and clear, so that they were safer for the kids that have sensitive skin due to Eczema. So, this year my plan was to remove the chemicals and begin using toxin free and natural cleaning products. This can be intimidating, one because I don’t know anyone that has gone natural with their cleaning products and two, it needed to budget friendly. Also, don’t feel intimidated by any of it, it can all seem overwhelming – but it’s so simple! I took the first step and made the change, I changed our hand soaps, dish soaps and cleaning products using Grove Collaborative.
Grove Collaborative
Grove Collaborative offers personal care products, cleaning products, laundry products that are essential oil based, they’re strong products yet natural – some products even being gluten free. Also, if you love candles, the safest are made from soy and beeswax, these reduce allergies and toxins in the home – Grove has soy. They offer brands such as Mrs. Meyer’s, Seventh Generation, Method, Natracare, Tom’s, Yes To, Dr. Brooner’s, Burt’s Bees and Acure – to name a few! If you’re interested in gluten free products be sure to read the ingredients before making your purchase. They have microfiber cloths for scrubbing and getting surfaces clean, as well as walnut sponges. Which can replace the use of paper towels when cleaning. As for laundry, I stopped using dryer sheets and fabric softener, instead replaced them with wool dryer balls. The more wool dyer balls you have in the dryer, the less drying time. You can use 3 or even 6 at a time! Also, sprinkle some essential oils on the wool dryer balls, it’ll leave your clothes smelling great. Just replace the dryer balls when necessary – if you haven’t tried these, you must! They have a glass spray with silicon bottom where you can pour in the cleaning concentrates, just top with water and you’re all set to clean! It’s a set of three concentrates, one for tub, tile and an all purpose.
I’d say that the Mrs. Meyer’s scent in Peony is my absolute favorite, but the Lavender glass cleaner did not disappoint. The Lavender from Method is also another great scent!

It’s no secret that when going to the Walt Disney World parks with makeup, the scorching heat can make you feel as if the makeup is melting right off. We’ve been blessed enough to have been going to Disney since 2015 with the children, if not twice than once a year. I love all things makeup and going to the Disney parks is no different, I’ll still wear makeup – yes, even in the Orlando heat. These 2 products will be the difference between a makeup that will easily come off after just a couple of hours and a makeup that will last all day.
Products To Use When Visiting The Walt Disney World Parks
WDW – December 2017
Olay – Moisturizer with SPF 15 + MG217 Moisturizer for Eczema
1. Smashbox Primer Water – This 3 in 1 primer will prep, hydrate and refresh your skin. I spray this, after I have applied my Olay Moisturizer with SPF 15 and because I have a bit of redness and dryness underneath my eyes, I will also apply MG217 Moisturizing Cream for Eczema, if you have redness, dryness and flaking on your face, due to Eczema or Dermatitis, this cream will help. You can also use the primer through out the day to refresh your makeup.
2. Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray – I will use this ‘All Nighter’ setting spray after I’ve done my makeup, this will lock the make up in for a long time – hours! It helps my makeup not settle into my pores or lines and avoid the makeup from melting or fading – definitely a must for any event that may take more than just a few hours and more like all day, like a wedding, prom or of course the main reason I use it for, Disney parks. I also keep a travel size setting spray in my make up bag.
Makeup Tool For Applying Concealer and/or Foundation
⇒ BeautyBlender – This is a great makeup tool to own! This needs to be used damp – do not use water, I’ll spray the primer water on the beauty blender/sponge. I use it to apply my concealer – you can also use it for your foundation. If you’re wondering what concealer is in rotation, it’s been the ‘Tarte Shape Tape’ in the shade, Light Sand. I’m a mom to six, so sleep is close to non existent – can you picture my under eye circles … please don’t!
I hope this will be helpful when prepping for your next trip to Disney World!
