This morning GMA (Good Morning America) covered a story on a Netflix Original that has just begun! If you already know, or don’t, Marie Kondo is a Japanese best selling author. She is known for her expert advice on all things organization and I just so happen to have a deep love for all things organized. And this Netflix Original Series is based on the ‘KonMari’ method which is from her best-selling book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. I also had written the post titled, The KonMari Method + Clutter Free Home, so if you haven’t read it, please do!

The plot behind this newly original, Marie Kondo lends a helping hand to people in need of decluttering their homes.
In the interview linked below with Marie Kondo, one of the things that struck a cord with me is when she is asked, what is wrong with American’s, why do we have so much stuff, to which she responds, that the homes are huge. Which only got me thinking about the homes I’ve visited – those smaller spaces and large, and how every inch of the home is covered in stuff! Have you been there?! Perhaps it’s because I live with chronic pain, but living in a space that is begging to be cleared is not something that is appealing to me. Either way, my hope is that this inspires you to declutter your home to make it a more loving and inviting space for yourself and your loved ones.

I’m excited to watch and see how she transforms lives, one home at a time.
A-
She is all the rave now a days. She is an amazing woman. Her house must be amazing

Yes! I’ve caught up on all the episodes – so good! Same techniques used, different emotions goes into each household. I love how she shows them so much respect knowing that what they’re doing is truly hard for them to do.
I’m not one to hold on to things past it’s useful time in my home and part ways with items rather easily. Even when it comes to clothes!
I have now began following her folding technique – amazing! I want to say, it’s borderline genius! And I’ve done the ‘spark joy’ method for my children’s clothes. They’re still rather young, but I found that sometimes I held on to clothes of theirs because someone gave it to them, say a gift, without me liking it. I’ve said thank you, and have donated the items. 😊🙌🏽

Yesss! So glad you’ve liked it. I have too.
The ‘spark joy’ theory really does work, and if you apply it to all the items in your home, you realize how many things no longer spark joy. 😊🙏🏽

That’s great! Yes, I’ve enjoyed the series too and can’t wait to see new episodes / families. It’s both inspiring and eye opening. The human, how we are capable of holding on to things, anything, did you see the wife and husband, he was holding on to the original mailbox the house came with?! And like him, there’s many. So glad, he was able to view things – especially material things, from a different perspective. 😊🙏🏽

Yes! It’s interesting to see how people hold onto things. Her method of keeping things that Spark Joy is something that I’d never thought of doing.

Yes! The ‘spark joy’ is so interesting. Because things really can do that to you. And as to why you have certain things, your reasons for holding on to it, etc.
Hope you’ve been able to watch the series. I’ve found all of them so interesting.

Yessss! Same here. Love to have free space though, not only that, but it makes cleaning so much easier to do. I grew up with my mother saying, everything has a place in the home. I know realize that when the item is out of its place for a long period, then it’s no longer needed and it’s purpose in this home is up. So I donate it.
Thank you Wendi. Likewise! 😊🙏🏽
