Reblog Wednesday: A Six-Word Story — HappymessHappiness

There have been times when I’ve felt unworthy, unworthy of love – of being loved, unworthy of blessings, of happiness, simply unworthy. And then things happen, time passes and I realize that I too deserve happiness, I too deserve blessings on blessings. I remember that there is no perfect being walking on this earth and that I try. I try my best as a mother, wife, sister and daughter, and that I strive. I strive to be better and do better than I did yesterday. As this lovely post by Happymess Happiness so perfectly in just but a few words put it – ‘Even broken things can be loved.’ Indeed.

Reblog Wednesday: Lies I Tell Myself: IV — chiariconversations

This weeks ‘Reblog Wednesday’ has come at the perfect time, and it’s by none other than Michelle over at Chiari Conversations. She’s a fellow Chiarian and her vulnerability and honesty is like breathing fresh air each time I read her posts. If you have neurological issues, or are a fellow Chiarian yourself, please follow her journey along!

And I say it comes at the perfect time because I have not been quite myself, the body pains have increased, my left leg and foot have been getting increasingly numb and the vertigo, well, the vertigo is a pain in the rear end! I’m going on 6 years since my brain surgery for my Chiari Malformation and every day feels much like I’m going through a slow death – only I’m still here and my brain is being squished by the minute. The stabbing pain behind my neck doesn’t subside and what seems to be the never ending hospital / doctor visits can make me feel much like an elderly than a young mom.  As Michelle clearly states, a few years ago I really don’t know how I could have handled these constant headaches. It’s not your casual headache, ‘you missed a meal, you are a little stressed’ kind of head ache – no my dearest friend and reader, this is a, run and close the blinds, turn off the lights, turn off the volume to everything, including the neighbors barking dog and let’s hibernate for say, a few weeks – kind of headache! The one where you momentary just wish to be a vampire, because lets face it, I wish the world around me was pitch dark, complete darkness.

If you have Chiari Malformation or not, maybe you are dealing other health issues and can relate …

The feelings of wanting to feel like wanting to enjoy life / social gathering without having the next day or even weeks be filled with even more pain and misery. Yes!

The feeling of not wanting to be told ‘you’re strong’ but know that I’d rather lay in bed in a fetal position because I can’t take the pain. Yes!

The wanting to go to the store and not have to worry about my left leg – body, being overstimulated and being at risk of falling in public. Yes!

The wanting to go out to a public place, say, church, etc. and just setting it on mute because the chatter and noise level is too loud for my brain to handle. Yes!

The need to want to be ‘able’ and not ‘unable.’ Yes!

The feeling of constantly needing help, because lets face it, I can’t do it all – literally. Yes!

The need to want to tell scream people to ‘get.to.the.point’ because conversations overstimulate my brain. Yes!

The wanting to stop being told, ‘but you look good’ because I know that if I looked like how I felt, I’d scare even my own offspring. Yes! and Yes!

What are some of your new normal’s?

It can be difficult to really KNOW whether the pain is normal or not when dealing with neurological issues. It doesn’t help that pain is personal even in the temporal sense. Five years ago, I WOULD NOT have been able to handle this level of constant headache. I would have thought I was dying. Today, […]

Reblog Wednesday: 7 Things We Can Learn From Jeff Bezos — Savvy 101 Life

I appreciate a good coming up journey. You know, the one where the person comes from nothing and is determined to make their dream a reality?! Because what’s a dream if not something that can come true – just a dream. It’s that mountain, that obstacle that needs to be moved in order for us to take that first step forward. Often times they refer to it as the push, that leap of faith, but whatever it is, people like Jeff Bezos are an example of the dream made a reality.

The post I share with you today is full of  interesting facts from the man behind Amazon. It is absolutely interesting and nothing short of amazing! And if you haven’t been to Savvy 101 Life, please go by, he’s full of inspirational posts, especially for that entrepreneur in us that’s itching to come out!

We often times have heard, ‘if I can do it, you can do it,’ well it’s true, it really is! I think there also differences between people like Jeff Bezos or Walt Disney or many others and the regular ‘Joe.’ They’ve had one idea that helped them rise in business and have had determination to see it become a reality.

As many many know already, I started my YouTube channel not too long ago. What you may not have known, is that this has been years and years in the ‘thinking.’ Yes! What kept me from taking that step into creating the channel, well your guess is better than mine! But, fear is up there. It’s up there, along with self-doubt. If you’re thinking of starting your very own YouTube channel, my best advice to you would be, just start! You’ll never be fully ready and you’ll never build enough courage to begin, so just do it, and you’ll soon find your jitters settle. You’ll buy the necessary tools as you go, you’ll get things together and invest as you go as it’ll all happen with time.

I can’t even tell you what I had for lunch today, because my day is a little jammed with the good ‘ole mommy to do’s. But one thing that changed last month was my mind set. I began thinking one day of my ‘Nail File Friday’s’ here on the blog and thought about merging it into a YouTube channel and before I could second guess myself, I put the thought into work! I just started it one night. That one night has turned into 19 videos and counting. And I’m all for ‘hobbies’ and ‘having fun’ while doing something you love, but let me be honest, I have little ones still in diapers! So, while I’m having fun, I’m also thinking long term. My goal is to be able to profit off the channel, not tomorrow, nope – I give it a few years! However, the day will come when good ‘ole nail painting will bring this mama some green. Because saying otherwise would only be deceiving. Here’s to you making your dream a reality – big or small.

The Richest Man In The World “The richest man in the world”, sounds great, right? But there’s more to say about Jeff Bezos than that well-earned nickname. It all started in 1994 with the decision of taking a step further from his already successful life. Jeff had an idea that wouldn’t let him sleep until […]
