The experience in dining and meeting the characters is like no other.

I couldn’t rank our top 3 as they’re all great experiences, so if you are able to get reservations for any of these, book it!

1900 Park Fare – located in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Magic Kingdom Resort Area

Characters here you’ll find Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter and friends. We however, reserve for the ‘Cinderella’s Happily Ever After Dinner’ and here you’ll find Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine (stepmother), Anastasia and Drisella.

Allergy-Friendly Keep in mind that if you have a child with allergies like I do, when making reservations by phone and upon arrival, let the cast member know. Although there is no guarantee there won’t be any cross-contamination, they try to make proper accommodations. Once seated the chef will come to the table and he’ll walk you through the buffet to know which foods the child may eat according to the allergies. They’ll also make a ‘special’ peanut-free dessert which will be prepared in the kitchen when he’s done eating. Also, visit my post on the kids food allergy alert wrist bands that my son wears.

Cost breakfast / brunch about $32 adults and $20 child, dinner about $45 adults and $27 child

Menu Buffet style, American cuisine.

Attire Unless you’re eating in one of the signature dining locations there is a certain dress code. But for the rest of the restaurants, such as these character dining experiences, it’s casual, come as you would go to the parks, per se. And this particular character dining is located in the very elegant Grand Floridian Resort, however, you can wear what you like – shorts, sneakers, just overall theme park attire.

Atmosphere Expect many children – not all mine, and a loud atmosphere. This can be applied to all the character dining experience, loud but oh so fun!

The Crystal Palace – located inside the Magic Kingdom Park

Characters here you’ll find the characters from The Hundred Acre Wood, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore.

Allergy-Friendly same as the 1900 Park Fare, when making reservations by phone and upon arrival, let the cast member know. Although there is no guarantee there won’t be any cross-contamination, they do try to to make proper accommodations.

Cost for lunch about $37.99 adults and $22.99 child

Menu Buffet style, American cuisine.

Atmosphere Like many of the character dining experience, expect many children, and a loud atmosphere.

‘Ohana (means Family) – located inside the Polynesian Village Resort, Magic Kingdom Resort Area *characters join guests only at breakfast time

Characters here you’ll find Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto.

Allergy-Friendly same as the 1900 Park Fare and The Crystal Palace, when making reservations by phone and upon arrival, let the cast member know. Although there is no guarantee there won’t be any cross-contamination, they do try to to make proper accommodations.

Cost for character breakfast about $34 adults and $20 child, dinner about $46 adults and $26 child

Menu Family style. American, Polynesian cuisine.

Atmosphere Like many of the character dining experience, expect many children, a loud but very fun atmosphere.

Also, keep in mind most restaurants will be less expensive if you book for breakfast.

Happy character dinning!

Disney: The Best Character Signing Idea

Have you ever been to Disney and met the wonderful Disney characters? The Disney character ‘Meet-and-Greet’ are amazing, they’re smiling, they’re interacting, they’re excited to see you and they’re ready and willing to take a picture with you, only before you know it, the experience is over.

When I was planning our very first family trip to the parks, I knew I wanted to have the characters signature. I also knew I didn’t want the signature book that Disney World has to offer. As someone who doesn’t like to store things away I knew the signature book would eventually make it’s way in a box and be stored somewhere. Instead, I wanted something that would be displayed on our walls for us to enjoy looking at even after our trip.

I’ve included a few of the moments we’ve captured on camera from our experiences with the characters signing our frames.

Have the Disney World characters sign on a picture frame mat!

•  Prior to our trip, I simply purchase a picture frame that includes a white mat.

•  I include a sharpie for the characters to sign with – keep it inside the zip lock bag, don’t be shy, you can tell them where to sign if there’s a gap needed to be filled.

∗ Please know, not all Disney characters will sign – simply ask the cast member that’s with the character to know if they sign, characters like Olaf from Frozen will not sign, as he hasn’t been to school and can’t read nor write, Baymax from Big Hero 6, Belle from Beauty and The Beast at Magic Kingdom will not sign, however Belle at the EPCOT park will!

•  You can do more than one Disney trip for character signatures in one mat frame – as I have done in the past. I simply choose a different sharpie color per trip and write the date of the trip on the back of the frame. The front of the frame will remind you which character signature color goes with which trip.

•  I store the mat in a zip lock bag – gallon size, and pack it inside our backpack. Florida weather can be unpredictable and to avoid getting the mat wet on a rainy day, I like to place it inside a zip lock. If you ever visit the Disney World parks bring an umbrella, rain or shine, it’ll be useful.

•  Get back from your vacation, choose your favorite picture, print it and frame! If you have kids or not, this picture frame signature idea is the best! It’ll be a great reminder of an even greater trip!

A few character signatures we’ve collected over the years have been, Mickey – although we’ve met multiple ‘Mickeys’ we now just get one of their signatures, since the same character will sign the same way, Merida from Brave, Lilo from Lilo and Stitch, Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Pluto, Gaston from Beauty and The Beast, Belle from Beauty and The Beast, Sofia from Sofia The First, Tinker Belle, Donald Duck, Jake from Jake and The Neverland Pirates, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Snow White from Snow white and The Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, Elena from Elena of Avalor, Woody from Toy Story, Buzz from Toy Story, Pocahontas, Timon from The Lion King, Tarzan and Daisy.

Please know, the best way to guarantee having a character experience is to make reservations at a restaurant with Character Dining – they’re amazing, just be sure to book your reservation early!

Hope this has inspired you in preparation for your visit to the Disney parks.

2 Products To Use At The Walt Disney World Parks For Long Lasting Makeup

It’s no secret that when going to the Walt Disney World parks with makeup, the scorching heat can make you feel as if the makeup is melting right off. We’ve been blessed enough to have been going to Disney since 2015 with the children, if not twice than once a year. I love all things makeup and going to the Disney parks is no different, I’ll still wear makeup – yes, even in the Orlando heat. These 2 products will be the difference between a makeup that will easily come off after just a couple of hours and a makeup that will last all day.

Products To Use When Visiting The Walt Disney World Parks

1. Smashbox Primer Water – This 3 in 1 primer will prep, hydrate and refresh your skin. I spray this, after I have applied my Olay Moisturizer with SPF 15 and because I have a bit of redness and dryness underneath my eyes, I will also apply MG217 Moisturizing Cream for Eczema, if you have redness, dryness and flaking on your face, due to Eczema or Dermatitis, this cream will help. You can also use the primer through out the day to refresh your makeup.

2. Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray – I will use this ‘All Nighter’ setting spray after I’ve done my makeup, this will lock the make up in for a long time – hours! It helps my makeup not settle into my pores or lines and avoid the makeup from melting or fading – definitely a must for any event that may take more than just a few hours and more like all day, like a wedding, prom or of course the main reason I use it for, Disney parks. I also keep a travel size setting spray in my make up bag.

Makeup Tool For Applying Concealer and/or Foundation

⇒ BeautyBlender – This is a great makeup tool to own! This needs to be used damp – do not use water, I’ll spray the primer water on the beauty blender/sponge. I use it to apply my concealer – you can also use it for your foundation. If you’re wondering what concealer is in rotation, it’s been the ‘Tarte Shape Tape’ in the shade, Light Sand. I’m a mom to six, so sleep is close to non existent – can you picture my under eye circles … please don’t!

I hope this will be helpful when prepping for your next trip to Disney World!
