When You Lack Motivation

I came across this picture and it gave me a great perspective on how big things have come from the modest of places – like a garage. How amazing is this picture?! What more motivation does one need?! I’ll be honest, I stared at it for quite some time.

If there’s one thing you and I have in common is that there’s always something that is holding us back. We want to do something, great or small, but we create excuses that keep us from getting it done.

What do you want to do?

Where do you want to go?

How will you get there?

… What’s holding you back?

What’s holding me back? …. It’s either my illness, my family or some other excuse that I allow to convince me, that now is not the time.

I was once in a place where I felt stuck, frozen and hesitant about taking the next step.

I was ‘thinking’ about creating a YouTube channel, if you are too, I’d say, ‘just go for it.’

Or ‘thinking’ about creating a blog, if you are too, I’d say, ‘just go for it.’

Or ‘thinking’ about creating an online store, if you are too, I’d say, ‘just go for it.’

Or say an Instagram account, if that’s you, I’d say, ‘just go for it.’

Because the growth will probably be slow and the learning will take some time, but all that matters is that you’re doing what you’re passionate about – continue to grow, continue to learn, and let’s be honest eventually the money will come.

Lastly, if you’re living with chronic pain like I am, be patient. Our bodies are not what they were before our diagnosis, your body will guide you, get things done when you can – or pain levels allow, prioritize things, create a schedule for yourself – even if it’s one task a day. You’ll see that slowly but surely things will come together and things will get done.

Do you struggle with staying motivated? What keeps you moving?

Reblog Wednesday: 7 Things We Can Learn From Jeff Bezos — Savvy 101 Life

I appreciate a good coming up journey. You know, the one where the person comes from nothing and is determined to make their dream a reality?! Because what’s a dream if not something that can come true – just a dream. It’s that mountain, that obstacle that needs to be moved in order for us to take that first step forward. Often times they refer to it as the push, that leap of faith, but whatever it is, people like Jeff Bezos are an example of the dream made a reality.

The post I share with you today is full of  interesting facts from the man behind Amazon. It is absolutely interesting and nothing short of amazing! And if you haven’t been to Savvy 101 Life, please go by, he’s full of inspirational posts, especially for that entrepreneur in us that’s itching to come out!

We often times have heard, ‘if I can do it, you can do it,’ well it’s true, it really is! I think there also differences between people like Jeff Bezos or Walt Disney or many others and the regular ‘Joe.’ They’ve had one idea that helped them rise in business and have had determination to see it become a reality.

As many many know already, I started my YouTube channel not too long ago. What you may not have known, is that this has been years and years in the ‘thinking.’ Yes! What kept me from taking that step into creating the channel, well your guess is better than mine! But, fear is up there. It’s up there, along with self-doubt. If you’re thinking of starting your very own YouTube channel, my best advice to you would be, just start! You’ll never be fully ready and you’ll never build enough courage to begin, so just do it, and you’ll soon find your jitters settle. You’ll buy the necessary tools as you go, you’ll get things together and invest as you go as it’ll all happen with time.

I can’t even tell you what I had for lunch today, because my day is a little jammed with the good ‘ole mommy to do’s. But one thing that changed last month was my mind set. I began thinking one day of my ‘Nail File Friday’s’ here on the blog and thought about merging it into a YouTube channel and before I could second guess myself, I put the thought into work! I just started it one night. That one night has turned into 19 videos and counting. And I’m all for ‘hobbies’ and ‘having fun’ while doing something you love, but let me be honest, I have little ones still in diapers! So, while I’m having fun, I’m also thinking long term. My goal is to be able to profit off the channel, not tomorrow, nope – I give it a few years! However, the day will come when good ‘ole nail painting will bring this mama some green. Because saying otherwise would only be deceiving. Here’s to you making your dream a reality – big or small.

The Richest Man In The World “The richest man in the world”, sounds great, right? But there’s more to say about Jeff Bezos than that well-earned nickname. It all started in 1994 with the decision of taking a step further from his already successful life. Jeff had an idea that wouldn’t let him sleep until […]

My YouTube Channel Is Born

Have you ever felt so bad, in so much pain, feeling like you have enough on your plate, but can’t stop pushing forward?! That’s me at this moment in my life. I’ve decided Chiari + Syringomyelia will have a place in my life, but not have my entire life. As positive as that may sound, it is extremely difficult, as I don’t only deal with the mental challenges of having a non-curable illness but also the physical aspect of it all.

I mentioned to my daughter earlier this week about perhaps starting a nail tutorial YouTube channel – for beginners, as I’m one myself. And before I could finish talking she said, ‘do it!’ Oh, to have the heart of a kid again, no fears, no doubts, just pure determination. That was the push I needed and before I had the time to second guess myself, I ordered a simple iPhone tripod from Amazon Prime, thought of a name for the channel, spent 1,000 hours – or what felt like, watching YouTube videos on how to make YouTube videos – did you get all that, and my channel Simple Nail Designs was born!

With a new tripod in hand and my iPhone, because right now any fancy equipment will have to wait. And this video here is the result of a small idea made reality.

Make things happen today.

It doesn’t take too much money to start an idea, try to work with what you already have. Don’t think of making any large investments right away. If you’ve been contemplating on something, big or small, all it takes to make it happen is passion and motivation.

How serious are you about achieving those dreams and how hard are you willing to work for them. I have absolutely no knowledge on recording a video and editing – none. I did however, know that the idea could turn into something. Maybe it won’t grow right away, but with patience, it will grow.

I share the news so you can follow along this new journey of mine. Please take a look at the video – my very first, AND please subscribe! Don’t be a ghost follower, they’re frowned upon!

I’m self-taught right now, so if you have any ideas on how to make videos that much better, please share!

Have a wonderful day.
