Nail File Friday’s: Easy Negative Space French Manicure

This is a very easy negative space french manicure in lime green. This is such a fun color and I’m especially loving the name – Mojito Madness. If you’re low on time, a negative space nail tutorial is the thing to do.

If you can’t freehand a french manicure, no worries, use scotch tape as a guide to help you get a straight line. Also, use as little polish at a time, using too much will cause too many mistakes. Enjoy!

Nail File Friday’s: Korean Inspired Nail Art

This week I was inspired by the South Korean nail art. It is so easy, they’re all about leaving the nails looking minimalistic which includes the ever so easy, negative space. I always enjoy looking at different trends, especially in the world of nail art. So, today with my great-grandparents in mind I went back to replicate this very fun Korean trend. Enjoy!

Nail File Friday’s: Light Blue + Gray Layered Nail Art

If you saw last weeks nail look you’ll see that this is a similar nail art, only this one is layered. I wanted to keep the same idea while incorporating something different but still keeping it all easy to achieve. The idea of these ‘Nail File Friday’s’ series is to do just that, give you easy and quick ideas that you can recreate yourself at home. As a busy mom, that’s what I’m always looking for!

Essie Nail Polish Used: Essie Find Me An Oasis (light blue), Chinchilly (gray) and Beyond Cozy (glitter) but this is the next best thing Social-Lights (shimmer)

Nail Tools UsedNail Brush and Dotter, you can use Avery Reinforcement Labels or even tape, also try these French Manicure Stickers – Mix Styles they’ll work as an easy guide for nail art.

Steps For Nail Art:

Step One:  1 Coat of ‘Seche’ Base Coat

Step Two: I painted the ring fingers with glitter. I did the angled nail art by first applying a coat of the light blue nail polish – you can use labels or tape to help you achieve a straight line, remove it while the polish is still wet, clean up the sides of the nail by simply dipping the nail brush in acetone, after each nail. Allow the polish to dry and then apply a coat of the gray nail polish – at an angle as well, leave a tiny bit of the light blue showing to achieve the layered nail polish look.

Tip For Layered Polish: I’ve found that doing the lighter color in the bottom will allow for a better look – light blue on the bottom and gray on top.

…. Allow the nail art to completely dry to avoid smudging ….

Step Three:  1 Coat of ‘Out The Door’ Top Coat

This is optional ….

‘Cuccio’ Cuticle Oil – Milk & Honey  – Cuticle oil will avoid your cuticles from drying that can happen from the nail acetone, it helps keep your cuticles moisturized.
